The Greater Johnstown/Cambria County
area has much to be proud of as we begin
the 21st century. Graced with four
distinct, majestic seasons and stunning
landscapes that blend the best of urban
and rural life, our region is a visual
feast year-round. These beautiful and
family-friendly communities, combined
with consistently low crime statistics,
a diversified economic base and
dedicated workforce have made the area
into one of the most livable regions in
the country-recently ranked by Money
Magazine as the number one most livable
area in Pennsylvania and number four in
the Northeast. The Greater Johnstown
area, which includes Cambria County and
Northern Somerset County, is renowned
for its small-town atmosphere, the
friendliness of its citizens and our low
rate of crime. This may seem remarkable
when it is taken into consideration that
our metropolitan statistical area
contains almost a quarter of a million
people. We are located within a 500-mile
radius of more than half of America's
population. Our highways, rail routes
and flight paths provide easy access to
major markets.
Citizens of Greater Johnstown/Cambria County are
proud to work hard and play harder, taking full
advantage of our four distinct seasons, natural
resources and the countless work and
recreational activities for every season, every
specialty, every style. Whether you're a sports
enthusiast or wildlife watcher, a hands-on
worker or technology buff, your activity of
