with Congressman John P. Murtha. General Dynamics Corporation
has supported the Showcase for Commerce for several
years and is a true friend of the event.
Breakfast with Congressman Murtha is a great way
to kick off the second day of Showcase
activities. Begin your day by taking advantage
of the chance to an address by one of the most
influential members of Congress. Congressman
John P. Murtha, a veteran of the United
States House of Representatives, is the ranking
Democrat and former chairman of the Defense
Appropriations Subcommittee. He retired from
the United States Marine Corps as a Colonel
after serving in both Korea and Vietnam. His
keynote address reflects his tireless efforts as
a national leader on defense, health care and
social issues. The opportunity to hear this
dynamic leader’s views on current world events
and national policy draws more than 800 people to the
breakfast every year.
We occasionally feature guest speakers at the
breakfast. During the 2003 breakfast, General John P. Jumper, Air Force
Chief of Staff, addressed the audience providing a unique
prospective on the United States military and the ever
increasing challenge and demand for procurement of top
quality material and supplies. General Jumper
discussed how events such as the Showcase for Commerce
assist the military in meeting their procurement
needs.
In addition to the unmatched opportunities to
hear from important and influential national
leaders like Congressman Murtha, the event
offers plenty of delicious food and yet another
