We at the Chamber are acutely aware of and sensitive to the privacy concerns of Showcase for Commerce registrants and visitors to our web site. Whether you are registering for the event or a visitor to the site, we assure you that we do not collect personal information from you unless you provide it to us.  Please note, however, that if you are registering or attending Showcase for Commerce, that we are asking for this information for the limited purpose of registering you for that event and authenticating your identity in order to complete your online transaction.  Be assured that we do not provide or sell personal information about our customers or site visitors to vendors that are not involved in the planning of Showcase for Commerce.

Personal Information

We do not collect any personal information from a visitor to our site unless that visitor explicitly and willingly provides it. Under no circumstances do we collect any personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health or sex life. If you are simply a visitor to our site, we do not gather any personal information about you.  

Email Request for Information

We use email links on our site to provide you with the opportunity to contact us to request further information on the Showcase for Commerce. To properly answer any questions you have we may request additional personal information from you, such as your name and telephone number, to help us satisfy your request.

Registration and Attendance 

If you choose to register to exhibit at or attend our event, we will request certain information from you. For certain registrations we may require your name, company, address, telephone number, email address, credit card number and/or bank account information. We generally respond to any email questions, requests for information and other inquiries we receive. We may retain this correspondence to improve our services and web site and for future reference.  Frequently we retain contact information so we can send updates or other important information about our event.

Facilitating registration and participation in Showcase for Commerce

We may use the information you submit to contact you to discuss your registration, participation or attendance in Showcase for Commerce. We may also provide the information you have submitted to our partner in the event, Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI).  Please be assured that JARI has agreed to use the information supplied only in accordance with this agreement.

Processing payments

If you are using our site to conduct an online transaction, we provide your personal information to PayPal, our payment gateway, and also to appropriate financial institutions, processors and third parties to provide a subset of the payment services (credit authorization, fraud screening, etc).  For financial institutions and processors, the use of personally identifiable consumer information is governed by federal and state privacy laws. The use and distribution of your personal information will be used by Paypal and other entities for internal use related to fulfilling the transaction services. We consider the protection of all personal information we receive from our web site visitors and registrants critical to our mission. Please be assured that we have security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse and alteration of any personal information we receive from you. As with any transmission over the internet, however, there is always some element of risk involved in sending personal information. In order to minimize the risk information submitted through our payment gateway will be encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.
